3-A SSI delivered one of the most successful education programs in its history on May 9-11 in Bloomington, MN, based on the large and diverse turnout and the feedback from program participants.
- Total attendance increased by 20% over last year as more professionals recognized the high value of networking for hygienic design education. Participants represented a large number of equipment fabricators, users of hygienic equipment, regulatory sanitarians and a number of hygienic design and process engineering experts or related consulting services.
- Attendees came from across the U.S. and other countries including Mexico, Canada, Turkey, India, Netherlands Algeria, Uruguay, Malaysia and Germany.
- About 39% of attendees reported having less than five years of experience in hygienic design, 16% with five to 10 years, and 45% with 11 years or more.
- 83% of respondents reported they were satisfied or extremely satisfied with the introductory training program, ‘Foundations of Hygienic Design’ on May 9.
- 81% of respondents reported they were satisfied or extremely satisfied with the theme program ‘Hygienic By Design: Reducing Risk in Your Facility’ on May 10.
- 78% of respondents said the 3-A SSI resources from this program were of higher quality than other training/education resources they have used for hygienic equipment design.
- 83% of respondents said they were likely to use other 3-A SSI Knowledge Resources as a result of participating in the program.
- 74% of respondents said they expected their level of interest in hygienic design training/education would be higher than present in the coming two years.
- Outside of U.S. dairy regulations, 77% of respondents said FSMA compliance was a strong or very strong driver for their interest in hygienic equipment and 3-A criteria. Interestingly, 53% reported Corporate Policy was a strong or very strong driver, while 39% reported European Legislation was a strong or very strong driver.
